Hey babes! It’s already time for another #SnapchatSunday! This week, one of you asked me the million dollar question – “What are your future plans?” Well, the great thing about my future is that I can literally go and do whatever I want. The scary thing about it is that I CAN LITERALLY GO AND DO WHATEVER I WANT. See what I’m getting at? I just turned 21. I have a college degree from the University of Alabama, an extra semester of broadcasting classes, a journalism certificate from Michigan State, a social media marketing certificate from Northwestern, and I’m in the process of beginning another certification. I spontaneously moved to live in West Palm Beach to work for a Major League Baseball team. I went to Hawaii and swam with sharks. I learned to surf. I rode quad bikes in the mountains.
Women in sports. Whether you’re in front of the camera reporting on the game or enjoying the game from the stands, I think that all women who either work in or identify as a sports fan can agree on something: you have to prove yourself. It’s a common (and quite annoying) stereotype that women don’t know anything about sports. However, for most women I know, this couldn’t be farther from the truth. They keep up with stats/scores, go to sporting events often, and are very knowledgable about how the game is played. And the amount of women like this seems to be growing each day.
